Introduction
|
|
Data Processing is a category of
IT Enabled Services pertaining to capture, digitization and
processing of data from various sources. It can be traditional
data processing services such as punching data from manually
filled forms, images or publications; analyzing data and preparing
databases and integrating them. However, with the advent of
multimedia and the Internet, sources have widened to include
manually printed documents, images, sounds and video. Equally
diverse are the new output media which include databases on
servers, hard copy publications, CD-ROM authoring and managing
records emanating from Internet based queries.
Data Processing has acquired significance
in the last decade as information has become a critical resource
for most enterprises dependent on timely, effective and judicious
use of IT. These industries may have to make internal decisions,
swiftly respond to a customer query, present reports, or for
any other use driven by information availability. Importantly,
there is an increasing comfort level with outsourcing such
services and as MIS staff are deployed in more tasks requiring
high skills.

Back Office Operations; Business Process Outsourcing / Management
|
|
Projects
with the following characteristics are best suited for Outsourcing:
- Projects
that involve heavy manpower deployment.
- Quick Burst
Projects that have to be executed in a very tight time frame
requiring fast and heavy mobilization of resources, both
manpower and systems.
- Industries
such as Banks and Airlines require large-scale data processing
and data based decision-making capabilities. For instance,
for revenue accounting and other back office accounting
operations, paper documents / raw data are sent to remote
locations, which are used for data entry and necessary reconciliation.
Using high-speed datacom links for their back-office and
data processing operations, these banks, airlines and other
organizations with extensive data turnover and customer
interface, are able to save costs and valuable resources.
This can be ensured through high-speed datacom links from
our facility in India to our New Jersey facility. In other
words, such a center could be realized simply as an offshore
extension of existing information and back office operations
promising constant availability. Over the last few years,
there has been a steadily growing trend to outsource these
services to major IT enabled service providers with contracts
running into decades. The prime criteria for such projects
are quality of organizational processes, availability of
abundant manpower and ability to dedicate resources to clients'
needs.

Data Digitization / GIS
|
|
Digitization
is the process by which physical or manual records such as
text, images, video and audio are converted into digital forms.
This is of paramount importance when projects need directions
based on already established facilities and the implementing
agency needs to find the scope for expansion. Digitized data
offers the following benefits -
- long term
preservation of documents,
- orderly
archiving of documents,
- easy and
customized access to information,
- easy information
dissemination through images and text, CD-ROMs, Internet,
intranets and extranets.
A Geographic
Information System (GIS) is a computer based tool for mapping
and analyzing things that exist and events that happen on
the earth. GIS technology integrates common database operations
such as query and statistical analysis with the unique visualization
and geographic analysis benefits offered by maps. These abilities
distinguish GIS from other information systems and make it
valuable to a wide range of public and private enterprises
for explaining events, predicting outcomes, and planning strategies.

Medical Transcriptions
|
|
Medical Transcription
is the process through which one accurately and swiftly transcribes
medical records dictated by doctors and other healthcare professionals.
It is the method of translating the dictation (that forms
the basis of providing healthcare) into a format suitable
for inclusion in a medical record (hard copy or electronic).
The current practice is for doctors to simply record their
findings through a Dictaphone or similar device. These sound
tracks are then sent through datacom lines to overseas companies
(where costs are much lower) that employ "medical transcriptionists"
who hear these recordings, transcribe them into reports and
send them back electronically through datacom lines. Information
and communication technologies are used to send the voice
recordings on satellite lines to far-off, low cost locations,
where these recordings are transcribed into reports that are
again sent back to the hospitals or clinics digitally through
the same lines and printed as reports locally. Expert medical
transcription of operative reports, discharge summaries, histories,
physicals, clinical visits, referral letters, chart notes,
home care reports, all of which are transcribed with the utmost
of care and accuracy. We understand the need for fast, accurate
medical transcription and provide this service for all medical
specialties.

Insurance Claims
|
|
Insurance companies
have two basic activities that require internal efforts, i.e.
creating and setting up an insurance policy and then processing
the large volume of insurance claims and accounting for the
insurance claims. Apart from processing, there is a large
amount of logistics involved in this activity. But the guidelines
to the process are well established and hence can be easily
performed remotely. In this business also, there is an element
of help desk, providing annual appraisal update service by
maintaining an updated database of all property records, creation
of low-cost property value estimates and providing for claims
reporting centers round the clock.

There is a constant need for lawyers, who counsel cases, to
go through relevant laws, rulings and precedents in order
to build up their case. Very junior lawyers in legal firms
usually do this. However, in the US and other developed countries,
even junior lawyers' services are highly priced. One of the
ways to get around this hurdle is to have a readily accessible
source of well-managed and intelligent information. And one
of the most promising and low cost ways of having ready access
to information is information technology. Therefore, many
legal firms have started to outsource this work to organizations
that have a large English speaking, lower-priced workforce
of trained professionals. The job comprises of working closely
with our firms to create a database of their existing records,
indexing on the basis of various useful and common understood
criterion, keeping track of new documents being created and
incorporating them into database as per well established parameters.
Lawyers can then simply use their computers to draw up a history
of similar and related cases and draw a clear plan of action.

Project Execution Methodology
|
| We
follow the following methodology for executing projects:
|
- The Client
prepares a Project Requirement Document and sends it to
us.
- Our Project
Managers study the document and discuss the same with the
client till a perfect understanding of the project is achieved.
- We then
do a pilot run on a sub-set of data and send it to client
for verification.
- Once the
results of the pilot run are approved, the live runs are
started.
- The project
is executed in a controlled manner using software productivity
tools and multiple levels of quality checks.
- An email-based
mechanism is worked out to keep the client informed about
the status.
- Data can
be downloaded from client using ftp and same protocol can
be used for data upload. Other methods of data exchange,
both electronic and manual are also used depending upon
the project.
- In certain
situations we use direct access to client servers to manage
data.
