World Health Organization (WHO), New Delhi

 


The World Health Organization's regional office for South East Asia operates a massive IT setup consisting of a 1000 node data/voice LAN using CISCO
switches and routers catering to around 400 users. The organization has around 400 desktop PCs of various international brands, 200 LaserJet printers, scanners and around 20 servers for database, email, proxy and web services. WHO uses multiple links for Internet that includes RF and Leased Line connections to VSNL. The email is based on Microsoft Exchange and the operating environment is Windows NT/2000. Applications use Micro-soft SQL Server as the database.

Since 1998, the entire IT Help Desk operations are handled by ENS with an on-site team of one coordinator and 4 engineers. The services provided include maintenance of data and voice communications network, equipment maintenance, client support and technical consulting.
